The Policy and Planning committee adopted the Manaaki Tāmaki Makaurau: Auckland Open Space, Sport and Recreation Strategy on 15 May 2025.
The new strategy replaces the Parks and Open Spaces Strategic Action Plan, Parks and Open Space Acquisition Policy, Open Space Provision Policy, Auckland Sport and Recreation Strategic Action Plan 2014–2024 and Increasing Aucklanders’ Participation in Sport: Investment Plan 2019–2039.
