Avondale-Te Whau heritage walk

What you will see on the Avondale town centre and Rosebank Peninsula walks

The walks provides an overview of:

Māori settlement in the area
later settlement by European
early industries and the development and consolidation of the community.

The walk features some of the earliest surviving places in Avondale, including St Ninian's Church built in 1859-60.

Where to start the walks

Begin in St Georges Road, opposite Avondale memorial reserve, look opposite to St Ninian's church.

It will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete both walks.
