Ngā Pūtea Taiohi o Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Youth Grants

Note: We are not running any funding rounds for this grant in the 2025/2026 financial year.

We provide funds for young people in Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board area for learning and development opportunities.

If you are aged between 12-24 years old, you can apply for a grant to:

• access learning and development opportunities to build your leadership skills and experience within your community
• help you develop your own social enterprise project
• attend conferences, programmes or training for personal development, on topics such as:
  • climate change
  • leadership
  • social innovation
  • wellness, arts and culture
  • trade
  • sports
  • media   
• run events or programmes that cater for community interests and needs.

Our grants programme supports projects that:

• provide opportunities for young people to engage and connect with each other through arts, sports and cultural activities
• provide rangatahi leadership and development opportunities
• provide initiatives that focus on education and employment outcomes, especially for Māori and Pasifika young people
• help build a strong local economy
• ensure Māngere-Ōtāhuhu is the centre of Māori and Pasifika arts and culture
• protect, enhance and preserve our environment and heritage
• improve connections in our area
• provide a range of facilities to meet diverse needs
• help strengthen Māngere-Ōtāhuhu as a place where communities thrive and provide a sense of belonging.

We are not running any funding rounds for this grant in the 2025/2026 financial year.

To be eligible to apply for the grant, you must:

• be aged between 12-24
• have a meaningful connection to Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board area
• be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
• include a letter from your school principal, teacher, tutor, community leader, or employer in support of your application.
