About the Manurewa Rangatahi Youth Grants
We provide funds to help young people in Manurewa connect, thrive and achieve their aspirations.
If you are aged between 12 and 24 years old, you can apply for a grant to help fund:
- your move into further education, or trade or vocational training
- youth or leadership development.

Outcomes
Our grants programme supports the Manurewa Local Board Plan in these areas:
- Young people are engaged, have a voice and contribute positively to local life.
- Kia ora te whānau: Whānau and tamariki wellbeing.
- Kia ora te Rangatahi: Realising rangatahi potential.
- Young people have the skills and training needed for quality, sustainable employment.
Funding priorities
We encourage applications from rangatahi seeking support to:
- attend conferences, programmes, or training for personal development
- access learning and development opportunities to build leadership experience within their community
- develop social enterprise or community projects
- achieve good health and wellbeing
- access technology resources
- run events or programmes to cater for community interest and need
- pay education and tertiary related fees.

More about the Manurewa Rangatahi Youth Grants
You can apply for funding for a project or activity once in each financial year.
Criteria
To be eligible to apply for the grant, you must:
- be aged between 12 and 24 years old
- have a meaningful connection to the Manurewa Local Board area
- be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- include a letter from your school principal, teacher, tutor, community leader, or employer in support of your application.
Accountability measures
If your application is successful you must:
- be available to work with Auckland Council staff on media coverage
- provide at least one photo of the event or activity
- include the Manurewa Local Board logo and the words 'funded by / part funded by Manurewa Local Board' on your publicity and promotional material.
You must also submit an accountability report at the end of your project or activity. This can be written or given verbally at a Manurewa Local Board business meeting.
This report is required to show us how you used the grant. We will not give any future funding to applicants who do not complete this report.
