Details of the proposed activity
Details of proposed activity: • To construct and operate a managed fill facility with associated enabling works, discharges of contaminants and streamworks involving the diversion of diversion of a tributary of the Ngakaroa Stream and reclamation of natural inland wetland. • To undertake off-set planting and wetland restoration on site and off-site compensation planting at 480 Bremner Road Drury (Ngaa Motu a Hingaia/Auranga Drury Creek Islands). • To upgrade Beaver Road East between the proposed site entrance and the State Highway 1 (Southern Motorway) interchange, with associated earthworks and vegetation removal within 10m of natural inland wetland. Types of Consent sought: • Land use consent (s9) for construction and operation of a managed fill facility and associated upgrade of Beaver Road East. Land use consent is required under the Auckland Unitary Plan (Operative in Part) (AUP(OP)) and under the Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Freshwater) Regulations 2020, for the establishment and operation of the managed fill facility, associated district and regional earthworks, reclamation of natural inland wetland, damming and diversion of surface water within 100m of natural inland wetland, earthworks and vegetation removal within 10m of natural inland wetland, diversion and placement of fill over existing overland flowpaths. • Discharge permit (s15) for discharge contaminants from a managed fill facility not meeting the permitted activity standards of the AUP(OP). • Streamworks permit (s13) under the AUP(OP) for the diversion of an existing stream on the site while progressively filling the gullies and to undertake new reclamation through filling over a piped stream and reclamation of areas of natural inland wetland. Overall, the proposal is a Non-complying activity.
