About Kelvin Strand

Large open green space on the Te Atatū Peninsula.

Access from the end of Kelvin Crescent. You will need to park on the road.

A playground, picnic tables and seating are inside the park.

The nearest public toilets are located at Chapman Strand, Jack Pringle Village Green or Harbourview - Orangihina Park via the Harbour View Road entry.

Follow the 2.8km Te Atatū Peninsula North Path which passes through the park.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

What to see and do at Kelvin Strand

  • Boat ramp  ‑ Two small ramp accesses are located along the coastal pathway behind 5 Kelvin Crescent and 48 Gill Avenue. They are suitable for small vessels such a kayaks.

    There is no vehicle access to these ramps.
