You'll find interpretive displays, many designed for children, making for an interesting time exploring the reserve. While the walk is steep at times, you'll well rewarded - a great family challenge.
Pine trees in the valley have been replaced with a regenerating coastal broadleaf forest as part of the community project.
Access from Empire Avenue and Great Barrier Road. You will need to park on the road.
Picnic tables and seating, bush trails and interpretive signs are inside the park.
Follow the 2km McKenzie Reserve Path and enjoy sweeping views of the Hauraki Gulf.

Animals
Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.
Alcohol
Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.
Smokefree parks
Our parks are all smokefree.
Waste
Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.
Outdoor fires
It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.
