About Potters Park

This is a 3ha reserve on the corner of Balmoral and Dominion roads. Families use the park for play and relaxation.

The park has Auckland's first water splash-pad which is great for children of all ages. A well-equipped playground surrounds the splash pad, with an accessible toilet nearby. The splash pad operates seven days a week from 10am to 8pm during the summer.

There is a basketball court near the playground, a band rotunda and a 'learn to ride' track at the eastern end of the park.

The park is well connected with flat or gradually sloping paths. Most are accessible and suitable for prams and recreational cycling.

There are plenty of seats, picnic tables and protected trees, including radiata pine, queen, and phoenix palms which provide much needed shade around the park.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

Playgrounds at Potters Park

Potters Park – Splash pad and playground with a small hill and trees in the background.

The splash pad water play area makes this park a perfect destination for Auckland families. The bandstand provides good shade, and the playground is fully fenced with a bark play surface. Large fields with plenty of room for games surround this well-lit park.

Picnic sites

There are plenty of places for a picnic either on the grass under a tree, in the band rotunda or at one of the many picnic benches scattered throughout the park.

Parking

Parking is available on the street on the Balmoral Road side of the park, and some surrounding streets.

Seating

There is seating near the playground and throughout the park.

Basketball and kick-a-ball

There are basketball half courts and kick-a-ball space near the playground area.

Accessible toilets and changing rooms

Located by the playground and splash pad. Open 7am to 11pm daily.

Barbecues

Located between the playground and band rotunda.

Bus stops

The closest bus services are on Balmoral Road near the playground and on Dominion Road.

Learn to ride path

There is a learn to ride track for small children at the eastern end of the park.

Band rotunda

The band rotunda is a great place to shelter from the sun or have a picnic.

Activities at Potters Park

Splash pad

Operates in summer only.
This splash pad is brightly coloured, and perfect for keeping the kids cool and active in summer. It has tip buckets, mists and fountains to keep them entertained.

Basketball

The courts are near the playground and toilets on the Balmoral Road side of the park.

Walking

Most footpaths from Balmoral Road entrances are accessible and reasonably flat for recreational cycling or pushing a buggy.
