Alan Wood Reserve
Also known as Hendon Avenue Reserve

63 Hendon Avenue, Mount Albert

About Alan Wood Reserve

A hidden spot just off Hendon Avenue, this is a great park for a bike ride or walk along the Waterview Path.

At this park you can enjoy the open space, fly a kite, or roll down the grassy banks.

A lower gravel track lets you get close to Te Auaunga Oakley Creek, one of Auckland's longest urban streams.

There is a single swing for the younger kids, although the raised timber edge around the swing will limit access. A basketball hoop for the older kids is beside the fenced sports fields.

Access the park from New North and Methuen roads, and Bollard Avenue. There are also walkway access points along Hendon Avenue between numbers 21 and 25, 31 and 35, 51 and 57, and at number 63. Parking is on the street. The nearest bus stops are on New North Road near Hendon Avenue and the Bollard Avenue entrance.

Follow the 2.7km Alan Wood Reserve Path, or join the 8km Waterview Path which passes through the park.
