Okiwi Park
Mabey Road, Great Barrier Island

About Okiwi Park

Great Barrier's best kept secret - this tranquil bush reserve is tucked behind the Okiwi Primary School and provides opportunity for recreational activities.

There are sheltered grass areas nestled under big old native trees that are perfect for a picnic.

Keep an eye open for kererū, tūī, morepork and kākā. This is the only place on the island where you may also see kākāriki.

Access is from Mabey Road. Pedestrian can also access the park from Aotea Road.

Toilets, picnic tables, barbecue and car park are inside the park.

Follow the Okiwi Park Path from the primary school, through the forest and back via the Mabey Road entrance.
