About Medlands Playground Reserve

Medlands Playground Reserve - Barbecue and picnic table under the trees.

This reserve can be found in the middle of the Medlands settlement just a short five minute walk from the beach. The reserve features a playground, basketball half-court and a snaking learn to ride track.

There is a toilet and a double barbecue with tables in the shade. A point of interest is the historic information display between the playground and basketball court.

There is plenty of open space for an impromptu game and trees for shade and shelter.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

Playgrounds at Medlands Playground Reserve

Medlands Playground Reserve - A series of stepping logs and balancing beams.

The playground offers a range of play opportunities for primary school aged children.

Enjoy the swings (including accessible basket swing), slide and rocker, or challenge your balance on the stepping logs and planks scattered through the reserve.

Bring a picnic or a ball to kick around in the open grass areas next to the playground. There are barbecues and picnic tables with plenty of shade from the pōhutukawa trees.
