About Luckens Reserve

This large scenic reserve has lots of space for the kids to run around or learn to ride their bikes on the network of paths linking the entrances.

Access the car park from Marina View Drive. Pedestrians can also access from the northern end of Renoir Street, and via a walkway between numbers 23 and 25 Mansion Court.

A playground, basketball half-court, skate park, picnic tables, barbecue, seating and a drinking fountain are inside the reserve.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

How to access Luckens Reserve

  • Car park  ‑ Access from Marina View Drive. Open 7am to 9pm in summer and 7am to 7pm in winter.

    Skate park safety rules

    Our skate parks are not supervised.

    Follow these rules to keep yourself and others safe:

    • Wear a well-fitting helmet and other protective gear.
    • Skate to your ability – don't try new tricks until you're confident.
    • Don't sit in or walk through the skating area.
    • Skate parks are for everyone – take turns, be courteous and have fun!
  • Barbecue  ‑ Electric barbecue by the playground.
  • Drinking fountain  ‑ Drinking fountain is near the playground.
