About St Heliers Bay Beach Reserve

Large, popular park and beach with a boardwalk along the waterfront. The St Heliers boat ramp is at the Cliff Road end of the reserve.

Access from Tamaki Drive. You will need to park on the road.

A playground, toilets at both ends of the beach, seating and picnic tables, barbecue and drinking fountains are inside the park.

Follow the St Heliers to Mission Bay Path along the waterfront.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

What to see and do at St Heliers Bay Beach Reserve

  • Boat ramp  ‑ There is a boat ramp opposite Goldie Street, one at the corner of Cliff and Vale Roads and one smaller boat ramps not suitable for large boats adjacent to Cliff Road public toilets.
  • Picnic tables  ‑ By the playground at the eastern end of the reserve.
  • Drinking fountain  ‑ Drinking fountain is near the toilets at Cliff Road.
  • Barbecues  ‑ Electric barbecues by the playground at the eastern end of the reserve.
  • Outdoor shower  ‑ By both toilet blocks.
