About Christmas Beach

A grassed coastal reserve perfect for a quiet day in the sun or kayak in the harbour waters. The reserve and beach are on the northern side of the island.

Access the reserve from The Terrace. You will need to park on the road.

A playground, picnic table, seating and barbecue are inside the reserve.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

What to see and do at Christmas Beach

  • Picnic tables  ‑ By the barbecue and playground.
  • Drinking fountain  ‑ Drinking fountain is near the barbecue at the western end of the beach.
  • Boat ramp  ‑ Located at the far end of Christmas Beach.
  • Barbecue  ‑ Electric barbecue at the western end of the beach by the toilets.
