About Martins Bay Recreation Reserve

This beachfront reserve has lots of open space to enjoy and a good network of paths to walk around.

Access the car park from Martins Bay Road.

A playground, toilets, car park (with mobility parking), basketball court, boat ramp, picnic tables and barbecue are inside the park.

Follow the 1.5km Scandrett to Martins Bay Path to enjoy the views at Scandrett Regional Park.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

How to access Martins Bay Recreation Reserve

  • Car park  ‑ Access from the end of Martins Bay Road. Gate open 7am to 9pm in summer and 7am to 7pm in winter.

What to see and do at Martins Bay Recreation Reserve

  • Beach shower  ‑ There are four showers along the beachfront.
  • Boat ramp  ‑ Concrete one-lane ramp. Adequate parking. See Google maps.
  • Picnic tables  ‑ Scattered along the beachfront.
