About Stanmore Bay Park

Stanmore Bay Park is a large park with sports fields, playgrounds and a skatepark. The park extends to the Stanmore Bay Beach.

Access from Brightside Road.

A playground, toilets, petanque and volleyball courts, picnic tables and seating, and car park are inside the park.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

Playgrounds at Stanmore Bay Park

This playground is next to the Stanmore Bay Pools and Leisure Centre, opposite Brightside Road.

The playground is suitable for the older kids. It has a climbing structure and swings over a bark surface.

There is a beach volleyball court and petanque terrain close by.

Wear a well-fitting helmet and other protective gear.
Skate to your ability – don't try new tricks until you're confident.
Don't sit in or walk through the skating area.
Skate parks are for everyone – take turns, be courteous and have fun!

Drinking fountain

Between the car park and the sports field.

Boat ramp

There is a boat ramp by the boat club and a concrete one-lane dinghy ramp with limited parking at the end of Langton Road.

Outdoor shower

Shower is on the northern side of the toilets.

Activities at Stanmore Bay Park

Basketball

The half-court is by the 160 Brightside Road entrance to the northern car park.

Touch rugby

The park is home to the Hibiscus Coast Raiders Rugby League and Sports Club, located behind the leisure centre.

Boating

The park is home to the Hibiscus Coast Boating Club and features a wide boat ramp.

Volleyball

The court is next to the petanque court and playground by Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre.

Splash pad

Operates in summer only.
The splash pad is located at the Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre.

Playground

There are three playgrounds at the park, two located on the northern end of the park adjacent to the beach and football fields, and one on the southern end by the petanque terrain and beach volleyball court.

Football / soccer

The Hibiscus Coast Association Football Club is based at Stanmore Bay Park. The park hosts weekend football matches during the winter season and summer football from 4pm onwards.

Petanque

There is a petanque terrain on the southern side of the park, near the leisure centre.

Skating

There is a skate park with ramps and rails at the park.
