About Te Rangi Hiroa

This park has a play space aimed at youth aged 12 or older. It has a multi-sport half and full courts, a climbing wall, rope course, skating elements and bike racks. The park is also home to the Waitākere BMX Club and the Massey Pony Club.

Access the car park from Birdwood Road. Pedestrians can also access from Glenn Road.

Accessible toilets, seating and picnic tables, car park and barbecue are inside the park.

Follow the Birdwood Path to explore nature, the vineyard history, art and the playgrounds.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

How to access Te Rangi Hiroa

  • Car park  ‑ Access from opposite 51 Bradnor Meadows Drive. Gate open 7am to 9pm in summer and 7am to 7pm in winter.

    Our skate parks are not supervised.

    Follow these rules to keep yourself and others safe:

    • Wear a well-fitting helmet and other protective gear.
    • Skate to your ability – don't try new tricks until you're confident.
    • Don't sit in or walk through the skating area.
    • Skate parks are for everyone – take turns, be courteous and have fun!
