Avondale Central Reserve
1951-1955 Great North Road, Avondale

This temporary nature play area has been installed in the southern area of the reserve, beside the learn-to-ride track. It has balance beams, wooden stumps and logs to clamber over, and sound and nature play equipment.

This temporary play area replaces the old playground which was removed to make way for the Te Hono project.

Please note: You can only access the play area, learn-to-ride track and the basketball court from the end of Racecourse Parade.

• Playgrounds are risky and designed to challenge – always supervise children.
• Use play equipment as it is intended.
• Playgrounds are for everyone – respect others, take turns.

Summer tips:

• Playground surfaces get hot – check before using and wear appropriate clothing and shoes.
• Play when it’s cool and avoid the heat of the day.
