About Brains Park

This is a large sports park on the Kelston Peninsula. It is the perfect spot for all types of recreational activities and letting the kids run around.

A playground designed for older children, and multi-use courts are next to the car park. Accessible toilets are a little further along the path. Seating is available throughout the park.

Access the car park from Tamariki Avenue. Pedestrians can also access the park from Vanguard, Brains and Albert roads.

Follow the 4km Archibald to Onewherowhero / Brains Path around the two parks.

Accessible features at this park

Two accessible car parking spaces are next to the Western Magpies Softball Club building.

Flat, concrete paths connect the car park, accessible toilets and other facilities to all four park entrances.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

How to access Brains Park

  • Car park  ‑ Access the large car park from Tamariki Avenue. Gates open 7am to 9pm daily.
  • Pedestrian access  ‑ 24 hours
  • Mobility parking  ‑ Two accessible car parks next to the Western Magpies Softball Club building in the car park off Tamariki Avenue. Gates open 7am to 9pm daily.

What to see and do at Brains Park

  • Seating  ‑ Located around the park and by the playground.
  • Drinking fountain  ‑ Drinking fountain is near the football clubroom.
