About Victoria Park

A popular large green space in the inner city. It is the home of Grafton United Cricket Club.

Outside of booked sports it is popular for informal ball sports, training and bootcamps - find out how to book our sports facilities.

The park has a sealed loop path and is ringed with mature London plane trees. A playground for younger children and a skate park and basketball court are located at opposite ends of the park.

Access car parks from Beaumont Street (P180) and Halsey Street (P120). Pedestrians can access from all four sides of the park Beaumont Street, Fanshawe Street, Halsey Street and Victoria Street West).

A playground, accessible toilets, basketball court, skate park, sports fields, picnic tables and seating, and drinking fountains are inside the park.

Follow the 900m Victoria Park Path around the perimeter of the park.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

    Our skate parks are not supervised.

    Follow these rules to keep yourself and others safe:

    • Wear a well-fitting helmet and other protective gear.
    • Skate to your ability – don't try new tricks until you're confident.
    • Don't sit in or walk through the skating area.
    • Skate parks are for everyone – take turns, be courteous and have fun!
  • Drinking fountain  ‑ Drinking fountains are next to the skatepark and near the playground.
  • Picnic tables  ‑ By the playground and skate park.
