About Kohimarama Beach Reserve

One of Auckland city's premier waterfront locations. Kohimarama Beach is mainly enjoyed for its swimming qualities. The beach is to the east of it the Kohimarama Yacht Club and is a location for many P class boat races.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

What to see and do at Kohimarama Beach Reserve

  • Drinking fountain  ‑ On the end of the toilet block.
  • Boat ramp  ‑ There are three boats ramps at Kohimarama Beach suitable for smaller boats. One opposite Kohimarama Road, one opposite Averill Avenue and a third is between Neligan Avenue and Sage Road.
  • Outdoor shower  ‑ On the end of the toilet block.
