About Cox's Bay Reserve

Cox's Bay Reserve is a large and popular reserve with sports fields which are busy with booked sports for rugby and cricket. It covers approximately 14 hectares and has a creek area with native vegetation, mangroves and an environmental trail. Perimeter tracks provide good walking circuits around the sports fields and through areas of bush.

Paths will take you through to the adjoining Bayfield Park and Hukanui Reserve. The reserve is also home to the West End Lawn Tennis Club.

Access from West End Road. Pedestrians can also access from Kingsley, Webber, Fife, Nottingham and Regina streets.

A playground, accessible toilets and changing rooms, parking, sports fields, seating and picnic tables, fitness equipment, drinking fountains, barbecues, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts are inside the park.

Follow the Grey Lynn Greenway Path to Grey Lynn Park, or the Grey Lynn to Pt Erin Path to Pt Erin Pools.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. Visit Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.
