About Point England Reserve

This reserve occupies 41 hectares and has a combination of rural (grazed) land, coastal edge along the Tāmaki Estuary and connections along the Omaru Stream.

The reserve borders Elstree Avenue in the west and Point England Road and Riverside Reserve in the south. The eastern edge of the reserve runs along the Tāmaki River. The northern end adjoins Wai-O-Taiki Nature Reserve.

The reserve is home to the Glenn Innes Pool and Leisure Centre.

Access the car park from Elstree Avenue. Pedestrians can also access from Pt England Road.

A playground, car park (including mobility parking), toilets and changing rooms, barbecues, sports fields, basketball court, cricket pitch, and picnic tables and seating, and drinking fountains are inside the park.

Follow the Tāmaki Path along the water from Dunkirk Reserve to Wai-O-Taiki Nature Reserve.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

  • Car park  ‑ Access the car park from the end of Point England Road.

What to see and do at Point England Reserve

  • Drinking fountain  ‑ Next to the toilets.
  • Barbecue  ‑ Electric barbecues are next to the toilets and picnic tables at the southern end of the reserve.
  • Picnic tables  ‑ Near the toilets at the southern end of the reserve.
  • Boat ramp  ‑ End of Point England Road. Locked gate with combination lock. Contact us on 09 301 0101 for the combination code if you wish to use the boat ramp. See Google Maps.
