This grassed campsite is based midway around a loop track from the Mangatāwhiri Dam car park. The track loops from Upper Mangatāwhiri Dam, along A.R.A Drive, Pukapuka Track, Lilburne Road and back.
There is a shelter with a roof and sides, and dirt floor.
We have closed the park for extensive pest animal control operations. You should not enter the park as there is a risk to people and pets from this operation.
We are clearing the tracks and roads of 1080 bait so it is safe to visit again. We will let you know when the park is ready to reopen.
Visit How we protect the Hunua Ranges from pests to learn more about the pest control process and view maps of the area.

We have put a detour on the top section of this track due to a large slip.
The track is still open, but please use the road while we work to undertake repairs. Check the signs showing the detour route.
We have closed large sections of the Hūnua Ranges to prevent the spread of kauri dieback.
When you visit our parks, you need to clean your footwear and equipment to avoid transferring disease from one area to another.
Find open and closed tracks and read about protecting our kauri.
Main park gates are open from 6am to 9pm during daylight savings hours and 6am to 7pm during non-daylight saving hours.
