Once your application is processed, the first payment or any changes to your direct debit – such as how often we take payments or how much we take – will take up to 15 days to take effect.
If you applied for your direct debit by post, phone or email and your next rates instalment is due in less than two weeks, you will need to pay it manually to avoid a 10 per cent penalty. If you are unsure, check with us.
