Description
The Devonport Community Recycling Centre is run by Resource Recovery Devonport, a registered environmental charity whose objective is to divert waste from landfill and provide sustainable new jobs and volunteer opportunities for the community.
Proceeds from the sale of reusable and upcycled goods from the shop onsite is invested back into the venture and the local community.
Opening hours
The centre will close from 1pm, Wednesday 24 December 2025 and reopen Monday 5 January 2026.
Normal opening hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8am-4.30pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9am-4.30pm.

- Waitangi Day
- Easter Monday
- Good Friday
- Easter Sunday
- Anzac Day
- King's Birthday
- Matariki
- Labour Day
- Christmas Day

Most types of waste are accepted, including: building materials, green waste, recyclable materials, general rubbish, household and commercial recycling.
