Eric Armishaw Park
117 Walker Road, Point Chevalier

About Eric Armishaw Park

This pleasant pōhutukawa fringed coastal park sits on the edge of the Waitematā Harbour.

It gets its name from local politician Eric Armishaw, an Auckland City councillor for 18 years.

The park gets busy as families and groups enjoy the large accessible playground and open space. Toilets and changing rooms, picnic tables and seating, mean you can enjoy this park for the whole day.

The harbour is popular for water sports when the tide and winds are favourable.

The shell bank area is home to migratory seabirds including cormorant, heron, and godwit. You must keep dogs on-leash, at all times, to protect nesting birds.

Access the car park from the end of Walker Road. The car park is open from 7am to 10pm in summer, and 7am to 8pm in winter. Pedestrians can also access the park via the boardwalk from Great North Road.

Follow the 3.2km Eric Armishaw to Waterview Path to Waterview Reserve. Check out the interesting historic signage along the way. You can also follow the path in the opposite direction to explore more of the area.
