About Valonia Reserve

A small local park near Richardson Road. Use the footbridge to cross over the motorway to see the Waterview tunnel and surroundings.

Access the car park from Valonia Street. The car park gates are open from 7am to 9pm daily. Pedestrians can also access from opposite SH20 and Alan Wood Reserve.

A large car park (with mobility parking), accessible toilets and changing rooms, basketball half-court, volleyball court, skate area, sports fields, seating, bike stands, and drinking fountains are inside the park.

Follow the 8km Waterview Path from Valonia Reserve to Waterview.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

  • Car park  ‑ Access from Valonia Street. Gate open 7am to 9.30pm daily.

    Our skate parks are not supervised.

    Follow these rules to keep yourself and others safe:

    • Wear a well-fitting helmet and other protective gear.
    • Skate to your ability – don't try new tricks until you're confident.
    • Don't sit in or walk through the skating area.
    • Skate parks are for everyone – take turns, be courteous and have fun!
  • Drinking fountain  ‑ Located on the corner of the toilets near the sports fields.
