About Narrow Neck Beach

A coastal reserve with a sandy beach and views out to Rangitoto Island.

Established trees line the beach side of the park providing much needed shade. There is lots of space to find a favourite place for a picnic, or just to sit and enjoy the view.

Access from Seebreeze and Wairoa roads. Pedestrians can also access from Old Lake Road.

A playground, car park, toilet and changing rooms, barbecue, two boat ramps, and lots of picnic tables and seating are inside the park.

The park is home to the Whakatere Boating Club and Squash Club.

Follow the Narrow Neck to Devonport Path along Vauxhall Road and King Edward Parade to Windsor Reserve.

You need to know

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

What to see and do at Narrow Neck Beach

  • Beach shower  ‑ The showers are on the north east wall of the toilets and on the beachfront opposite Wairoa road.
  • Barbecue  ‑ Electric barbecue behind the toilets.
  • Dinghy ramp  ‑ Old Lake Road, Vauxhall Road - boat and dinghy ramp. See Google Maps.
  • Bike stands  ‑ By the playground and toilets.
