About Castor Bay Beach Reserve

This is a pretty reserve with pockets of established trees and lots of open grassed space for the kids to run around.

Access the reserve from the beach end of The Esplanade and via a walkway between numbers 75 and 77a Beach Road. You will need to park on the road.

A playground, picnic tables and seating are inside the reserve. The nearest public toilets are within easy walking distance just along The Esplanade.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. See Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.

  • Outdoor shower  ‑ The shower is by the steps to the turf area.

  • Boat ramp  ‑ Boat ramp at the end of The Esplanade. Dinghy ramp at the southern end of the reserve.
